The pressure on SMEs to transform digitally has never been more pressing than the era brought about by COVID-19, shifting priorities to support current needs: business continuity and remote work.

Leveraging technology has become instrumental for a small business as they find ways to deal with the new normal of market forces. But as our dependence on new technologies rises, vulnerabilities and business risks associated with the use of such technologies and systems continues to grow. The majority of SMEs are yet to understand the true impact cyber risk poses to their business, with the spending priorities associated with bolstering their organizations and the importance of Cybersecurity failing to be recognized as a fundamental component of Digital transformation.

This workshop is led by expert speakers from Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst, Ryerson University and is designed to provide participants with the fundamental knowledge needed to evaluate the cybersecurity risks facing small businesses, and to provide information and tools to educate your workforce around information security.

Join us as we discuss key cybersecurity topics, such as: business risks identification, the importance of incident responses, business continuity plans, and disaster recovery plans. We’ll explore how to leverage vendors who can assist you on your journey, and the importance of developing and evaluating your own cybersecurity program.

To join this cohort, simply take your Digital Needs Assessment today. It only takes 30 minutes!

Speakers:

  • Sumit Bhatia – Director, Knowledge Mobilization and Communications, Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst, Ryerson University
  • Randy Purse – Senior Cybersecurity Advisor, Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst, Ryerson University
