  • Room: Online

In 2019, as Ontario enjoyed record-low unemployment and strong economic growth, the Toronto Region Board of Trade, in partnership with the Metcalf Foundation and the United Way Greater Toronto, released Help Wanted – a guide to improving the province’s job matching and skills training services. Now, with COVID-19 plunging the region into a recession and more than a million people having lost their job, that focus on effective employment services is more important than ever.

Join the Board and its partners in the release of Help Wanted 2 – a follow-up report that provides a framework for connecting job seekers to economic opportunities by using granular-place based data. Against the backdrop of the pandemic, the report identifies in-demand jobs and maps the local labour and jobs market in the Peel Region against frequent transit. With this framework and information, employment service providers in Peel will be better equipped to match local job seekers with in-demand jobs, and tailor services to support responsive and proactive labour market planning and talent development through our economic recovery.
