AI, cybersecurity and data analytics roles remain difficult to fill, and the competition for experienced talent is driving up costs, delaying projects and slowing digital transformation. Reactive hiring alone is no longer sustainable.
This complimentary workshop will examine how York University’s Digital Technologies degree creates a structured, employer-embedded talent pipeline, and what participation looks like in practice. You will gain clarity on how the model works, what level of commitment is required and whether it can strengthen your long-term workforce strategy.
York University’s BASc in Digital Technologies is Canada’s first fully work-integrated digital technologies degree, built with industry to address persistent tech talent shortages.
Students are hired into full-time, paid roles for up to four years while completing their degree, contributing directly to software development, cybersecurity and data science initiatives inside your organization.
For tech leaders, HR and talent executives and innovation teams, this model creates immediate digital capacity and a structured, lower-risk pathway from early contributor to future full-time hire.
Since launching in 2023, the program has maintained a 100% student contract renewal rate, with employers including Alstom, BMO, Dayforce, OPG, Quanser and Shopify.
