Mandatory climate disclosure for businesses is coming to Canada. Are you ready?

The Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) was established by the Financial Stability Board (FSB) in 2015 to help businesses develop and promote climate-related financial disclosures in order to be ready for a climate-adjusted future. Endorsed by the G20 and supported by more than 2,600 organizations with a $25 trillion combined market cap, the TCFD is the global best practice for how businesses should disclose the risks and opportunities climate change presents to their business.

TCFD recommendations encompass both transition and physical risks, and allow businesses to better inform investors, lenders, insurers and other stakeholders on the actions taken to tackle and mitigate these risks.

This past October, the Canadian Securities Administrators released a proposal to make TCFD-aligned reporting a requirement for publicly traded companies in Canada.

Is your business ready? Join Manifest Climate for a webinar on what the TCFD is, how it can benefit your business, and what rules are being proposed in Canada. We'll help you understand how to approach TCFD reporting and the tools and resources available to get started.
