Shaping the future of the Toronto region

Toronto Region Board of Trade members want to do business in a globally competitive region that is a highly desirable place to live and work.

The Board is a strong and influential voice on issues that matter most to the business community. We work closely with members and thought leaders to develop policies that will help ensure our shared vision. And, through effective advocacy, drive action toward this vision.

The Board is focused on four member-directed policy priorities:

• Facilitating prosperity through economic development
• Emphasizing sustainable infrastructure to enable economic development and a higher quality of life
• Strengthening local and regional government to enhance our economic prosperity
• Promoting prosperity and liveability

Our focus on key priority areas has already produced significant results. The Board was instrumental in the creation of Metrolinx, the regional agency dedicated to addressing prosperity-crushing traffic congestion and gridlock. Our fair taxation advocacy led to reforms in provincial and city tax rates and the Board successfully encouraged the province to take back responsibility for social program costs.

Take part in events: participate in expert-led roundtables, interactive breakfast forums, town hall meetings, discussions with business and political leaders and more
